Artemus W. Ham IV was born in Las Vegas, NV in 1973 and has lived here his entire life. Art is a 4th generation Nevadan and hails from one of the pioneer families of the Las Vegas valley. Artemus attended St. Viator's grade school and graduated from Bishop Gorman High School. He then completed his undergraduate studies at Santa Clara University with a political science major and a communications minor. Ham graduated from Creighton University School of Law in Omaha, Nebraska in 1999 and passed the Nevada Bar exam that same year. By pursuing a legal career in Las Vegas, Art ensures that an "Artemus Ham" has been an active member of the State Bar of Nevada every decade over the past century, following in the footsteps of his grandfather and great-grandfather.

The Ham family has played a significant role in the prosperous evolution and development of Las Vegas including the transformation of downtown Las Vegas where his father, Artemus Ham III, was instrumental in the growth of the Fremont East Entertainment District. The family has been honored and recognized across the state of Nevada for their philanthropic work, including the naming of UNLV's concert hall in honor of Art's great-grandfather. Maintaining that tradition of service to Nevadans, and the desire to continue improving the economy, job growth and education have motivated Art to seek public office. Art cares deeply about the future of Nevada and believes that getting involved in the political process will help to make a difference, realizing that now is the time to ensure that Nevada can provide a safe and secure future for the next generation.
Interests & Accomplishments:
Art is very engaged in the community and currently serves on the Fremont East Entertainment District Board and has been involved since its inception over 10 years ago. Art has worked for several prestigious local law firms and has also been a successful solo practitioner doing everything from commercial and business litigation to landlord tenant work. He has been the recipient of numerous awards including: Top 40 Under 40, Rue Ratings' Best Attorney Lifetime Chartered Member, Rising Stars by SuperLawyer and Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Art is an avid sports fan, especially baseball, and enjoys traveling to new places and spending time with his family.
Art met his wife, Elizabeth Ghanem Ham during his clerkship for Judge Michael A. Cherry, now a Nevada Supreme Court Justice, and her clerkship for the Honorable James Mahan. After running a successful law practice for several years Elizabeth retired from the active practice of law and is currently President of the CASA Foundation that supports abused and neglected children in the community. Art and Elizabeth have two daughters between them, Jordan and Isabel. Jordan is a freshman at the University of San Francisco and wants to be a lawyer with a focus on criminal justice. Isabel is in the sixth grade at Las Vegas Day School. She is a class representative and enjoys competitive dance, acting and voice lessons, and playing the piano.
