Meet Art Ham | Nevada State Assembly District 5

About Art:

Artemus W. Ham IV was born in Las Vegas, NV in 1973 and has lived here his entire life. Art is a 4th generation Nevadan and hails from one of the pioneer families of the Las Vegas valley. Artemus attended St. Viator's grade school and graduated from Bishop Gorman High School. He then completed his undergraduate studies at Santa Clara University with a political science major and a communications minor. Ham graduated from Creighton University School of Law in Omaha, Nebraska in 1999 and passed the Nevada Bar exam that same year. By pursuing a legal career in Las Vegas, Art ensures that an "Artemus Ham" has been an active member of the State Bar of Nevada every decade over the past century, following in the footsteps of his grandfather and great-grandfather.

Invested in Nevada:

The Ham family has played a significant role in the prosperous evolution and development of Las Vegas including the transformation of downtown Las Vegas where his father, Artemus Ham III, was instrumental in the growth of the Fremont East Entertainment District. The family has been honored and recognized across the state of Nevada for their philanthropic work, including the naming of UNLV's concert hall in honor of Art's great-grandfather. Maintaining that tradition of service to Nevadans, and the desire to continue improving the economy, job growth and education have motivated Art to seek public office. Art cares deeply about the future of Nevada and believes that getting involved in the political process will help to make a difference, realizing that now is the time to ensure that Nevada can provide a safe and secure future for the next generation.
